DH will turn 30 on June 15th....we just had our wedding in March of this year ....and SIL is having her first baby and her shower is June 11th. I wasnt going to plan a big bash for him because of all that is going on but all of a sudden I am feeling really guilty about not doing something BIG....I dont have much time what should I do??Also I cant spend a lot because we are building 2 rooms on the house and have DH's nephew staying here too what should I do??

how about a nice quiet romantic dinner at one of his favorite restaurants, and then a night out at an upscale hotel???

If DH was normal we could do that but he hates to be away from the kids even for 1 night but maybe if he saw that I worked really hard on planning it he would appreciate that

well if it's already planned, then he'd have no choice, right? is there a close relative he'd feel comfortable leaving the kids with? his mom, your mom??

The BBQ sounds good to me. You can invite the immediate family and the closest friends.
