What should I do --dress viewing did not go well...

I don't know what to do...I originally saw my dress at Saks in the city but wound up ordering it from the Wedding Salon of Manhasset since it is closer to where I live...When I went to order the dress, I noticed the back was a little different than the one at Saks --I brought this to the owner's attention at Wedding Salon and she assured me that it was the same gown. Well my gown just came in and I went to look at it last week and it definitely is different than the one at Saks --I am so upset. I called the dress designer and they confirmed that there are 3 different variations of this dress (even though they all have the same style number).

I feel like my train was shorter too than the one on the website and the one in Saks...

I called Wedding Salon and they told me I need to wait until the owner I was dealing with is back next week. My wedding is in June --I know I don't have time to get a new dress and I don't want to settle if I am not 100% happy...

That's terrible... she should have known that there were variations of the same dress!! That's her job to know. Sorry.

Re: What should I do --dress viewing did not go well...

yes there is time to still get a new dress - they can get you a dress in a month if they really want to - fittings can also be done in a week or two

wedding salon of manhasset is a reputable store -they do not want unhappy brides neither does the designer - wait to talk to owner of wedding salon

they will figure it out

Re: What should I do --dress viewing did not go well...

That's what I would think since she managed the salon at Saks! She should know that they had a different variation --I am so pissed! Oh and the other owner was the manager of Kleinfeld's --how could the two of them not know --then when I went to look at the dress --the one owner said I just need some crinolin in it! I think they totally lied to me too.

Re: What should I do --dress viewing did not go well...

OMG- Sue I am so sorry that you have a problem with your dress.. and that is SO not cool about what the salon did to you- Yes I agree- I bet they knew there was a difference...

What is the major difference-- and I assumed you tried the dress on- before you ordered right? And you liked it-- so, maybe you were like remembering the dress differently all this time??

Another idea is to call the designer and see if you can trade- maybe they can get you a sample or something-- see if they would do anything for you..

Re: What should I do --dress viewing did not go well...

if you look at the dress on the website --the back is like the one i tried on at saks --however the one at the wedding salon looks like it has box pleats going across my butt --when i tried the sample on --i noticed it looked different and we asked them and they said that the sample was old and that is why it looked that way...

i also think the train is shorter and the designer said that the one at the wedding salon is a slimmer version than at saks...

Re: What should I do --dress viewing did not go well...

There is time to get a new dress. Bridal Reflections in Carle Place ordered the wrong dress for me and I did not know it until it came in (they tried to get me to keep it, but that is a whole nother story). If its not th dress you want, than DON'T take it...you will forver look at your gown in pictures and know that this was not your dream dress.
Since THEY ordered teh wrong dress, make THEM order you a new one and DEMAND that they pay for any additional costs to expedite the process.

I would really try to like get a sample of the origial dress- I mean- what happens if you don't take the dress from WS- do you still have to pay for it? I would seriously call a rep from the designer- and see if anything is possible- perhaps they can send it back and they can change the skirt- and that should be able to be done in enough time.
