what should the fathers wear?

I have a question about tuxes. When FH and I went to pick them out, the salesperson suggested that we choose a vest color for the fathers that is different from the GMs so that they stand out. FH is wearing an ivory vest with an ivory shirt, and the GMs are wearing wine vests with ivory shirts. The only color we could think of that wouldn't clash with ivory and wine is black. But FH's dad said he'd like to wear wine too, and I kind think they would look better in wine also.
Should I change the color for the fathers' vests to wine or should I leave them as black? Or, how would it look if I got them the wine vests, but had them wear tux jackets that are different from the GMs?

Let the dads pick it! (as long as they're not colorblind ) If they want wine, then wine it is....

our tuxedo place suggested the fathers wear black since it is traditional and classic.

if you do the wine, will they match the mothers dresses?

ffil is wearing a completely different tux from the gm and his vest is going to coordinate with what fmil is wearing. my dad is going out and buying a new tux. im letting the dads do what they want.

Oh, that makes sense! I never thought of having ffil coordinate with fmil. I love that idea!
The only problem is that my mother passed away, so my dad wouldn't be able to coordinate with anyone.

i asked that coordination ? to my tuxedo place and they did not recommend it since i want it more traditional. they also said that the father walks the bride down, so if you want it traditional you should choose black.

lol, my dad IS colorblind, so he can't pick a color

I think they'll probably just wear black or silver... my mom is wearing red, and I can't see my dad in a red tux vest, so just black or silver will be fine.

Personally, I would do charcoal over black. I just don't personally like the look of black vests with tuxes at a wedding.

My FH, GMs, and fathers are all wearing the same tux with the same color vests / ties (charcoal grey in a herringbone pattern). The BM dresses are navy.

DH wore white
GM wore platinum
Dads wore black
