Re: What size weights do you lift for your biceps?
I guess my question is ....Should the weight be heavy enough where the last set of reps is more of an effort or should I just add another set or two? I am currently using 5 lbs for my arms and shoulders. I have been steadily losing weight but my arms are still thick.

try increasing. I never use the same wight when lifting, I gradually in crease, then increase it and do less reps with the heavier weight.

I heard you should start to really feel it after 12 reps when it's working but let Jenny confirm.

Biceps- 15 lbs each arm
Triceps? I typically use cables, not dumbells, but when I use a bar, I use a 35 lb.
Shoulders? 30 lb.
How many reps? 3 sets, 8-12 reps each set

30 lbs for shoulders! You go girl! My teeny little shoulders can only handle 20 lb dumbbells.
Mlp - I think 5 lb dumbbells is WAY too light for biceps. I think you could do even more than that for shoulder presses too. If your arms are big, you could do mainly high reps (12 - 16), feeling those last few really burn. Do that for a few weeks, then switch to heavy weights, lower reps for a couple of weeks to mix things up if you want. There are so many combos you can do - you can pyramid up (your first set starts with light weights and high reps, then you gradually increase weight and decrease reps with each set). You can then do drop sets which is the opposite of pyramid. Keep up the cardio though - if you have big arms already and then increase your muscle mass without losing fat, your arms will only look bigger!
Cables are great for triceps - and french presses are good too. I do skull crushers a lot, and dips off a bench are great to finish up with. Good luck!

I do the skull crushers with the 35 lb. bar. They are great! When I get fatigued, I quickly finnish off with french presses. That really burns!
30 lbs. is my max for shulders. I have been doing 25 lbs lately. It's safer.

Re: What size weights do you lift for your biceps?
I have built up to the weights that I use now over the corse of 7years. I started doing biceps with 10 lb dumbells.
You should definitly go up in weight when 12 reps feels easy to do. And don't worry, your arms won't get huge, you will burn more calories throughout the day because of the added muscle mass, so your arms should actually get smaller.
