Let's Get Loud by JLo (maybe??)
It may sound silly, but I heard someone use 'Let's Get Loud' by JLo and the more I think about it, the more I think it would be a great way to get the people up and on their feet. Then again, I have to run it by my FH before I make any decisions.....

Question about entering the reception...
I am confused by something...if the bride and groom attend the cocktail hour, do they still get announced and make a grand entrance into the reception?

Question about entering the reception...
Annavan - from the weddings I`ve attended, even if the B&G attended the cocktail hr, they`re still announced as husband and wife at the reception. As for the song, I`m thinking about using 'Beautiful Day', by U2. Although I still have over 8 months to change my mind!!

Intro Songs & Cocktail Hour Dilemma
For the parents and wedding party, our DJ, Eddie of Parameters, had the Blues Brothers theme on a loop, and everytime he made an introduction, he would start the loop over .. it was really well timed, very upbeat, energetic and playful. For us, we used Gimme Some Lovin by the Spencer Davis Group, again, very upbeat, energetic and playful. Some other ideas: The very beginning part of Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith .. it`s very dramatic. Top of the World - Van Halen Walkin on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravitz Start the Commotion - Wiseguy I`m a Believer - Smashmouth Beautiful Day - U2 David Letterman Theme Get Ready for This - 2 Unlimited Peter Gunn Theme - Blues Brothers Walk This Way - Aerosmith Star Wars Theme Instrumentals from Indiana Jones All I Wanna Do - Sheryl Crow Devil Inside - INXS New Sensation - INXS Let`s Go Crazy - Prince End of the World (As We Know It) - REM Start Me Up - Rolling Stones What I Like About You - Romantics Everybody Have Fun Tonight - Wang Chung Axel F - from Beverly Hills Cop I`m So Excited - Pointer Sisters Thriller - Michael Jackson Ain`t No Stoppin` Us Now - ?? Odd Couple Theme Mad About You Theme Annavan - We attended part of our cocktail hour and still did the intros. My husband`s brother`s wife didn`t want to attend their cocktail hour, because she felt it would be strange to then be introduced for the reception. However, I think now she regrets having not attended the cocktail hour. Everyone at the cocktail hour is socializing, but when they go to the reception, that`s the party .. do the intros anyway to kick things off and get the party jumpin`!

Intro Songs & Cocktail Hour Dilemma
I think we are having our bridal party enter to Love Theme by Barry White and we are still working on the song for us.

Intro Songs & Cocktail Hour Dilemma
We did go to a few minutes of our cocktail hour -- but we also were introduced at the reception. It's your day to shine and the reception is more of a formal enterance when everyone is paying attention. Have fun! Wish I could do it all over again!

We used...
Singin' in the Rain (instrumental) by Gene Kelly. We wanted a very elegant, lower key entrance into the reception. The song had a very romantic and special meaning to my husband and I, so we loved it. (Our band got all of the guests into it by clapping along). I really didn't want a club song that would have made us feel like we were being introduced at a basketball or football game...(wooh, wooh, woohing...etc) We also chose a very elegant and old fashioned song for our first dance (At Last by Etta James), so it made a very nice transition.

What we plan on doing
Our first dance is 'Grow Old With Me'. We are going to have the band a long intro for the song and then go right into our first dance. Like Claud2001 we want a lower key, elegant entrance. It all depends on your wedding and personality though.

grow old with me is such an amazing song - there won't be a dry eye during your first dance!

We used...
I am also going more understated, although we haven't picked our songs yet. Richie wants Hero...the new one by Enrique Iglesias. I am more into Luther Vandross' Here and Now. We have so many songs we both want played. I want a romantic, elegant wedding and will have to chose an entrance song that suits that theme.

Phunkykat....
My FH is also a huge Phish fan. I told him about your choice of an intro and he thought it was great! It's a running joke in my family that the meatstick is going to a participation dance at our wedding!

'Grow Old With Me': J. Lennon
I am not sure if it was done with the Beatles or by himself. We used this song during our ceremony. Everyone loved it.Welcome New Vendors
