It's a modified A...I think it read something about a slim cut A-line. Court or chapel train. Alvina Valenta had a very similar dress that my friend wore for her wedding: http://www.alvinavalenta.com/alv/display_dress.php?imageno=9653&multimatch=x
Also, Pronovias has a nice collection of A-line's in their 2009 collection. pronovias.com Once you're ready to try dresses, tell then you like A-lines and ask to see full A's and modified A's to get a sense as to what works best for you.

Re: What style of dress is this called?
I think that's an A-line, strapless dress. I had a modifiled A-line dress and it does not look like that.
I think a modified A-line starts more at the hips instead of under the bust line. Just my guess from what I have seen.

I LOVE that dress! That was the dress I originally went looking for in Philly after trying it on in NY! But then I tried on one more which I just fell in love with. Anyway, it's a slim a-line. An LIW bride wore this dress. Check out blkbently05's photos.
