what the heck...........

ok, today we get our first no, and it was fh aunt, I never met her but I just think that is odd. I can not wait until fh comes home, maybe she is old or something.

I'm confused... why are you so mad about getting a 'no' from someone you don't know anyway? One 'no' and 78 'yes' is a pretty amazing turnout.

I am not actually mad, maybe confused that his aunt would not come, she lives very close.

my mom is one of 8 and so far she only has one sibling who has responded that they are coming. we got 4 no's and the others have yet to respond. i was a little hurt but my mom doesn't have the best relationship w them so i guess they feel they can slight me b/c of it.

but it is kind of upsetting when yours or your FH's parents' siblings don't want to come to your wedding...i can't even imagine when my niece is getting married 25 years from now NOT being there. it's sad that things like that happen in families.

sorry to say, you can probably expect quite a few more nos....i have read several places that we can expect 10-15% to rsvp no....ya never know, she might have a really good reason regardless of her location being close by

it's a terrible situtation but if siblings and their parents don't take it upon themselves to maintain somewhat of a relationship, it will suffer...

yes, I have noticed his family is not close , my family is very close. in the six years we have been together his sister called him once, and I do not recall him ever calling her. and she is soo nice. then my sister and I call each other constantly. I just worry about his feelings being hurt.
