What the hell is with this place?!

I've been at my job for more than 2 months now. Supposedly health insurance kicks in at 60 days.

Well here I am still with no health insurance!! I keep asking them what is going on, and no answer! I know the company is not in the best financial position right now, but come on, I wouldn't be on the health insurance plan for that long anyway!! And then some guy who just started maybe 2 weeks ago is ALREADY on the plan?? WTH??!! He gets on instantly from day 1 and I'm sitting here after 2 months and nothing? You guys keep telling me 'oh, let me find out and get back to you.' Ya know, if you're going to let me go or something and this is why you are stalling, then tell me, otherwise just let me have the insurance!! I would have to pay 50% of the costs anyway! Augh!!!!

Send the HR person a letter or e-mail requesting that you be put in the plan immediately per your employment agreement.

Attach the employment agreement if possible. Follow up in 48 hrs.

i'd contact HR and be annoying and persistent if you have to. sometimes its like you have to be a B*tch to get things done!

Janna - i think legally you can do something about this if you8 have it in a contract stated that you get H.I after 60 days

ETA: Responding to the woman above me who said you have to be a persistent b*tch - in this case, i agree - I once called a woman at my job 5 times a day until she responded - yeah, it can be anoying - but if I got sick or in an accident, she sure as hell wans't paying my medical bills!!!
