what this married chic learned.....

what this married chic learned.....

hi girls.... I just wanted to send everyone with a wedding coming up a brief note of support....

there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

While I regret none of my micromanagement of the wedding details, I do have to reiterate other former brides observations... you don't realize them too much on your big day. You're so overwhelmed having your friends and family surrounding you, that you don't realize what people wore, the details of many decorations, or what most other people are doing at the reception.... Also, minor problems don't seem to matter.... such as a lost bouteniere, minor errors with the decorationg scheme, a lost ring bearer pillow....

The extended after parties, rehearsal dinners, and barbecues after the wedding are EXHAUSTING. Try to plan an escape route from all those events. We were ready to drop an hour into the after party.... and still had the BBQ the next day! We had no way to escape and recover.... By the end of that weekend, I literally was unable to drive I was so exhausted....

The other thing I'm happy to report is that married life is extremely happy.... there's no more wedding pressures, after all Always keep focused on the goal.... the wedding is merely a party to celebrate your union.... your union is all that matters! Nothing wedding related should cause you and FH to argue.... it's simply not worth it. Put a barrier up which prevents your families from budding into your relationship and creating chaos...

OK, that's the summary of my experiences.... Keep your chin up and most of all, enjoy the ride!

Re: what this married chic learned.....

It's all very true. If the little details are bothering you, there's something wrong--the wedding day is for you to enjoy. Let someone else worry about a lost bout! I didn't worry about any of that stuff. I didn't even notice that the sun had come out for the ceremony, a guest had to tell me later that she got a sunburn, then I looked at the photos and realized people were wearing sunglasses. I had the BEST time at my wedding. I've never been so happy in my life, and I think it's evident in my photos.

Once your wedding day is there, forget about all that stuff. All you have to worry about is that you get married, and that you, your husband, and your guests all have a good time. You do have to remember that they're YOUR guests though. They want to see you, they want to talk to you, even briefly.
