We could only get dinner reservations at the place I want to go to at 9pm. So if we tell everyone to meet around 8:30- do you think that's too late? We have alot of stuff planned for the night....

That sounds like a perfect time. For my friends we had 9:00 reservations. We met at 7 at her house and then had to drive into the city. Thats why we met so early. I think that is fine. You may want to have them meet at 8 though, so everyone can chat for a little bit before running out the door and feeling rushed.

We met at a hotel in NYC around 7pm for some drinks before and then had 9:00 dinner reservations and then headed out. I think you are fine with 8:30 p.m.
