Mine stayed the whole night. After the cake you typically do the parent dances, and then the dance floor usually pops so I wanted some fun action shots as well.

We did parent dances right after dinner. I have never seen parent dances after cake cutting at a wedding. After the cake cutting is when people usually start to leave.

Really? Every single wedding I've ever been to had the parent dances right after the cake was cut, and that's when they had us do ours also. I always thought that's when they were. That's so funny!

My photographer told us that them leaving early wouldnt be a big deal..They said when people do just the 8 hours (which I am) they can even go as far as to stage the cake cutting..this is confusing to me but I believe them. I went to a wedding recently where they did the first dance and parent dances back to back immediately after they walked in. All that was left after was the cake cutting and garter/bouquet toss. My point being, there are ways to work your packages, and in the end they want happy customers, so they will work it out.


The solution I was happy with was to stagger my photographer's and videographer's hours. My photog will come to my house when getting ready in the morning, do the portraits, and all of the necessary reception photos. My videog will start at the church, and stay until the end for all of the drunk sweaty dancing lol. I love when I see the professional videos featuring the girls getting ready/opening gifts/being excited, but I figured my dad can always work the ol' home video camera for that stuff, right?

this may sound like a silly question..... but let me explain
I'm booked with an all inclusive package, so the photo package is for 8hrs the my church service ( which I haven't booked...oops) will prob b at 5 CH 8 recp 9-1 do the math that's 8 hrs so I get no pics at My home while getting ready! :(

the salesman solution and suggestion oh well we don't stay till the end we leave after u cut the cake????? so we can do 4 at your parents for pics.... what u can't leave at 12? that seemed strange to me! that's not normal right???

I think how you time things will become important and that there may be shots you really want you have to cut or pay more for, are you doing a reveal before hand or is your FH seeing you at church, are you doing BP and Family Pics before Church, doing that will take time away from end of night. I would make a list of MUST HAVES and see when in your day they take place, if it is all early in the day - don't worry, but if something that is really important happens latter in your timeline then you have to adjust the timeline or pay for more time!

I think I was to do revel before church. but that's a good point I can talk to the dj and make my own timeline. I guess I'm just afraid of missing something after cake and meeting like man I wish I didn't let the photographers leave!

our photographer is coming at 11am and staying until our after party is over at 1am. we got full day coverage and were able to dictate full day coverage :)

Exactly, you can tell dj and photographer when what should happen when it's your day!
Thank god for friends and family with cell phones and cameras, once they can be your end of night photogs!
