What time is your reception ending (Night weddings)

I have a choice of having my reception end at 12 or 12:30....I would like 12 30 because it gives me an extra half hour, but I am concerned that people will leave thinking it ends at 12 or when they hear the band keep playing will get bored because they think it is going until 1.....What time does your reception end??

I have the choice of either having my cocktail hour start at 6:30 or 7:00--so it would end at either 12 or 12:30--since its a Friday I thought starting at 7 would be better for anyone who had to work.
I think the 7-12:30 would be better than the 6:30-12.

If you end it at 12, people might start leaving at 11:30. If you end it at 12:30, people might start leaving at 12. I think if you do the extra half hour, you'll still get that extra time for your event. And try to space the food and special dances out a little more so that people will realize there is still more to come, so they won't leave. It goes so fast... if you decide to not go for the extra half hour, you might regret it! We're extending ours by a half hour (my engagement party was 4 hours, and it was over in a blink, so I learned that lesson!), so ours will be from 4:30pm until 10pm, but ours is on a Sunday.

Ours will be 7-12 Fri night. We have the option to extend an hour but it would be big Bucks $$$ Mostly likely NOT doing it.

Mine will be either of the 2, probably the first: CH at 6, Reception at 7 or CH at 7, Reception at 8

ours was supposed to end at 11:30 pm, but everyone stayed until midnight- even though the band was all packed up and walking out by 11:20 pm.

ours goes from 6 to 12 but have the option to go to 1 not shure how much extra it will be
