I am going to print my inviations today and I am still very undecided as to what time I should put on them. The ceremony starts at 6:30pm and it is at the reception hall, so as soon as the ceremony is over the reception will start. Being that it is on a Friday night, I am afraid people will be later than usual because of traffic and such. I talked to the RH last week and asked when they will let people in, and they said exactly 6:30pm. They said they will have to wait in the lobby if they get there early. So what should I do, keep the time as 6:30 or make it 6:15, just in case. I am sooo confused!!

I am getting married at JT and my bridal consultant told me to put half an hour earlier than the actual time. JT though has a lounge for early guests and will serve them wine and cheese.

I would put 6:15... If they get there early 15 mins is not gonna kill anyone.

we put 6:00pm on the invite and our ceremony starts at 6:30pm. Friends of ours did this last year and not many people were there at 6:00pm. By the time 6:30 rolled around everyone was there. But for the half hour we were there we mingled with friends and had champagne that was served. Then they seated everyone about 5 minutes before the ceremony started. Hoping thats how mine goes!

Can you check with your RH and see if they will do something like giving champagne or wine and cheese for those who are waiting in the lounge early? Cause if they'll do something nice like that, then I'd say go with the earlier time. But if it seems like they'll just tell the people to sit and wait, then I'd say go with the regular time.

I asked the RH this past Tuesday and they said they won't be able to start letting people in until 6:30. The lobby is pretty small and I think there will be another wedding there at the same time, which is why I figured 6:30 just might be best. I am pretty sure they won't be serving anything to them either.

I had a similar issue. My RH told me to put the real time b/c people will already allow for traffic etc and if they get there too early they will just be waiting around. Some places offer champagne and strawberries some don't. When I was looking at Rh's, some told me they would put 15 min earlier, some said put exact time.

Given this set of circumstances, I say go with the regular time.
