What timeframe is considered 'too late' to book vendors?
I got slammed at work with major deadlines and there's no way I can take the frequent internet breaks at work or on weekends to research vendors and the like, what is considered 'too late' to book a vendor?
Has anyone actually planned a wedding in a span of only 3 to 6 months? If I were to book a DJ and a florist in March 2010 (for an Oct wedding) is that too late? I just hate rushing these things but I don't want to place deposits down for vendors w/o taking my time to actually see them at Bridal Showcases or at appointments..

No way is that too late! Plenty have people have planned a wedding from scratch in less than 6 mos. I'm less than 7 mos. away and I haven't booked my florist yet and I just recently booked my DJ. If you have any 'must have vendors' I'd recommend booking them sooner rather than later, but other than that- you're fine!

I think it is very possible to plan a wedding in that time frame you just might not have your first pick at vendors because of it.

it all depends. when my brother & SIL got married in 2001 they planned their entire wedding in 4 months. but they didn't have top of the list vendors. they had local neighborhood vendors.
if you are interested in many of the vendors the girls talk about on this site you may be out of luck.

Many people plan weddings in 6 months or under. I had actually contemplated doing so myself. However, you just need to realize that your options will be more limited, since many vendors may already be booked up.

Its never too late but like other girls said you probably won't have your first choice of vendor and you probably won't be able to book any of the popular vendors on here.

I think you will be just fine as long as you aren't set on having a particular vendor for anything. Good luck!
