Has anyone carried anything down the aisle besides a bouquet of Flowers? I am getting married in the winter and I just don't know if Flowers are my thing.
Any ideas?

I DID NOT want flowers either. I thought it would be a waste. I told my bm's they'd be carrying pumkins that they carved...they didn't like the idea...lol.
Just because had no other ideas...i did wind up with flowers...but I wish I thought of something that would be different!
Honestly...I think the lantern would be stunning!

Originally I was going to have my BM's carry fur muffs, so you can DEFINITELY look into that, especially if you are doing a winter wedding.
You can also carry a fancy fan or something like that.

as has been said, Crystal bouquet, Candle, Fur muff, Pomander, silk flowers, if you find an ornament you like, carry that
I have also seen Bead or Wooden roses, or a bouquet of feathers, like Ostrich feathers.
If you are doing a christmas theme, make a bouquet out of Christmas Ornaments in your colors

I was just in a wedding last month. The bride carried flowers but the bridesmaids (10 of us) carried small lanterns with a fake LCD tea light.

Are you having anything in your ceremony, like the sand, or wine, or lasso, b/c it could be cool if members of the B P could carry down items that would be used in the ceremony. . . and place them at the bottom. .
also love the muff, or lantern/candle suggestions

I kind of like the idea of the bridal party bringing down the different items! Good one.

If you aren't a 'flower' type of gal, since it is the winter, maybe you can just get one of those muff's and walk down with that on your hands.
I agree with this! If you're not carrying flowers, why carry anything at all? While my bo-k was beautiful, I found it to be a pain in my butt! It was annoying to keep worrying about -- when you get down the aisle, what do you do with it -- you give it to someone else to hold! When we were being introduced into the reception, I didn't carry it either! My BA was like 'don't you want your flowers?' and I said 'No! I'm going to dance -- why would I want to be holding a big bo-K?' The bo-k spent way more time on a table than in my hands!

If you are catholic, you could carry a small bible with rosary...I looked at my Grandma's wedding pictures and that's what she had, and all of her sisters also....

Thanks Girls. I think I am going to look into the muffs, the lanterns, and I like the idea of carrying the Bible with rosaries. I just hope I don't regret not having flowers.

nvm: the girl above me got to it first =D I like that idea though, both the bride and groom carrying a lantern.
Maybe have an unlit lantern at the end of the isle, and then you both take from a candle, the flame in each of your own lanterns and light the one! Almost like a unity candle, but with lanterns?
