What to do?

What to do?

I think I know the answer to this, and I'm probably being blind and naive, but what would you do -

I found out the other night that FH has been chatting with some girl online. I confronted her about this - and said he was sorry, and that he would never do it again. That he doesn't know why he was doing it, that he only loves me, and that he wants to marry me. We've been engaged for almost a year - wedding isn't that far away. I said it was all innocent, that he never met her, that he doesn't want to, never spoke to her on the phone....I found out about him doing this one other time (before we got engaged) and he swore that he wouldn't do it again. He had gained back my trust from that, but now it is broken again. I don't know if I can ever trust him. It is a few months before our wedding and he needs to be 'chatting' with some girl online? I have such mixed emotions. Part of me thinks I should run - and not look back. The other part of me wants to believe that he won't do it again. I really don't know what to do. Of course breaking it off now would be complicated. But a divorce would be even more complicated..........help!

I sincerely feel that marriage is a serious commitment between two people. Having said that, although your FH may love you, there is something that just isn't right. If the two of you feel that it is something that you both want to work hard for, maybe the two of you should seek counseling. I honestly wouldn't let this go and continue this way . . .

Best Wishes to you, and I wish you luck in reaching the best decision for yourself.

I would definately talk to him. And ask him to REALLY think about what is going on. There has to be a reason he's chatting up some chick on the internet. Tell him to make sure he is done w. all this. I would be crushed if I learned that my husband was chatting w. a girl. There is no reason for it!! He has you & his friends there is no reason he needs to talk to someone on the computer. Maybe you should distance yourself for a bit & make sure this is what/who you want to be w. for the rest of your life! It is a HUGE commitment. And just remember one thing this is THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!!!! The person you give that to should be worth it!!!
I hope it works out!!!

I think that counseling could help. Good luck.

I wish you luck in whatever you do, but I must say that you should seriously consider counseling. No matter what it costs to postpone or cancel a wedding, that doesn't compare to getting divorced after. I would have serious trust issues after discovering this twice. I really wish you the best, I have a feeling you two are going to have to do some serious talking.

Remind him that he said he wouldnt do this once before, ask him if he know why he is doing it, and then ask him if he thinks you guys should get counseling before the wedding to figure out why he is doing what he is doing. It could just be innocent, guys have an ego thing, but make sure you feel confident about it.

If it makes you feel any better, I had a chat buddy that I occasionally talked with on line. We were chatting before we each had gotten/getting married but since have lost touch with another. We never had feelings for one another, just someone to shoot movie quotes with. (We are both Bill & Ted freaks.) But I also know if I was to continue talking with him, Dale would get a tinge of green eye. Although I never saw my chat buddy the way I see Dale.

But if it is bothering you, he should stop. If you don't have trust then you are always going to have your suspicions.

I would get counseling ASAP. I was once engaged and thank G-D broke it off becuase of this. I caught him on a date with his 'innocent' online friend. I am glad I broke it off, I never would have been able to trust him again. Then I met my FH and am so glad I did what I did.
I wish you the best of luck in whatever you deceide to do. It is easy to get married, but harder to get a divorce .
Hugs to you.
