One of my close friends got married awhile back and the past few weeks everyone has received their thank you except me and FH.
So i started bugging out and check to see if we gave them a gift and we did have a check but it was made out to cash....now I am thinking someone else cashed it.
If you were me would you
1 - Wait until my wedding to see if they give me a gift (I figure they wouldn't if they think we didn't get them anything).
2 - Ask them about it....
3 - Wait awhile longer...(Do some couples send their thank yous out in stages???)

Some do send them out in stages. They write a few and then send them instead of waiting til they are all finished. Give it another week or so. Maybe the mail is slow.

I would maybe say something--
See-- that's why checks made out to cash are tricky-- you can't really track them.

I had that happen. I mentioned to the couple, 'Wow! You guys must be so busy with your thank you cards.'
When they said that they finished them all, I mentioned that I hadn't received one.
They said that they sent it, but then they sent me a second one.

No I can't. I have one of those printouts. Can I call the bank and see who did. This might figure it out if its them endorsing it.

If she's a friend you can TOTALLY ask her...... But in the future, I'd put a specific payee on the check

I've learned my lesson there. For awhile I did cash because I thought if they couple did not set up a joint account then they could not cash it yet...found out that is not necessary...oh well....
I think I will ask her if I don't get anything by the end of the week. I just would be really embarrassed if they thought we did not get them anything this whole time.
