Do you like the new hotel better??? Will it save you a lot of money? I personally want to have my wedding at an all inclusive because I find it more affordable for my guests and myself. Also many all inclusive resorts offer wedding packages. You should contact the coordinator there and see what they offer and work out pricing for both locations and decide from there. If you can get your deposit back that's great!

hi there! i would definitely try to get your deposit back if you like the new hotel better...if not the whole deposit, at least some of it. you're better off having it at a place that you love

Try comparing reviews online. I really like the tripadvisor.com website. It gives real reviews from average vacationers. Also I find the location specific forums to be really helpful. Also people post candid pictures taken on their vacation that will give you a real look at the resort and not just the pretty pictures on their websites. I know it can be really expensive but you might want to take a scouting trip and go down for a weekend and look at the 2 properties in person to see which one is better for you. then you could also meet with the coordinators and see the facilities in person.

Re: what to do....

I just found this on the tripadvisor forum about the Renaissance Aruba private Island

'I would not get married on Ren. Island! It's about 300 yards from the airport. Planes arrive/depart on an erratic schedule-- frequently enough to disrupt your ceremony.
Look into Eagle Beach for your ceremony-- that beach is absolutely gorgeous and I think it would be perfect.'

I'm not sure if this is true or not. Take all the information with a grain of salt. Many people are biased to one location or another but information whether bad or good can always give you something to think about.

Re: what to do....

If in the long run it would save you money, then it's definitely worth looking into... as a guest, I would rather go to an all inclusive resort than a regular hotel... then I would have an idea of how much I would spend in advance and can budget better!

The other hotel might let you use your deposit as a credit and maybe you and FH can stay there a couple of nights on your HM... just a thought!

But definitely check out the reviews first! You never know with new hotels! I'm getting married in Ireland in the summer and I booked last year at a new hotel. When I booked they gave me a package with their 2007 rates and when I signed the contract there was a line that charges are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances... when I questioned it the coordinator at the hotel said it's only if something drastic happens... well 3 weeks ago I got a package from the hotel saying that their prices were increased and that they are holding me to the new rates so now I have to pay an extra 5-10 euro per person which turns out to be over a grand when you convert it to $. ***** big time!

Hahaha LIW blocked the word s*cks!
