Do you feel like people are inviting themselves to your wedding and making little comments?

Yup, people have definately been dropping hints, which is so annoying. I usually just ignore them - no one has come out and said 'i'm invited, right?'
if that happens I'll just have to be honest, we are having a small wedding and the room on the boat only holds 60 people, we have invited 58, not a lot of wiggle room

Re: What to do???
I actually had some one come right out and ask me if they were invited! It was someone that we wouldn't have invited, but FH was there and said 'of course!'. He hates to be the bad guy...

Re: What to do???
I have not heard it, but FH has. He is a bus driver and half of his depot thinks they are getting invited. One guy even said that he hasn't received the invite yet. Thank God that FH told him straight out - that's because you're not getting one. At 196 invited guests, I think our wedding is big enough. What makes people think that they are getting invited ? I don't socialize with them, have met them ever so briefly, FH doesn't even 'hang out' with them at work.
UGGGGHHHHHHHH !!!!!

Re: What to do???
People have definitely assumed they are invited. I encountered most of them at my sister's wedding in May. They kept saying, 'I'm looking forward to your wedding' and 'what date is it again?' & 'where is it?' I feel kinda bad about not inviting them, but we just can't. It's way too expensive & it's not like we're that close with those particular people. Oh well.

I have an ENORMOUS family, so I only have room for a few friends.
I feel bad, but most people are aquaintences of mine, and should understand...

Yes! I ran into a friend from highschool yesterday whom I adore, but have kind of lost touch with. He asked why he hadn't recieved his invite yet. Uhoh... now I'm debating whether to add two more people to my list (that already has 36 people that NEED to say no ) or just try to avoid him forever

Re: What to do???
People did this to me all the time. At first, I felt bad, but then I got realistic. My opinion on the matter is if I didnt put you on the list then you are not going to be invited. I just didnt have money in the end for 200 people.

I used the Miss Manners token answer:
'Its so kind of you to take an interest but we are having a small affair with just family and a few close friends.'
It doesn't matter f you have 400 people invited, that's what you say.

Don't you wish you could just tell them, sure you can come, but that will be $100 per person before gift?
I swear, people are so obnoxious...don't let them make you feel bad!

Re: What to do???
That's so funny. I thought I was the only one. I have distant relatives I haven't seen since I was small saying they are coming if they are invited or not (meanwhile I was NOT invited to any of there weddings) W T F and ladies at work who keep dropping hints. It's crazy. I bit the bullet and invited the relatives but the ladies from work. Sorry. I don't even like them (the ones dropping the hints) So why on earth would I invite them. When they say things like you are going to have such a wonderful wedding or you are going to look so beautiful as a bride (very nice things to say but believe me-there is an implied invite-me in there) I smile and say thank you, but FH says I should say, well I'll make sure to bring in pictures for you.
