What to do
What do you do if you had an appointment to meet with your DJ (who you booked 1 year ago) at 8:30 in the evening, 45 minutes away form your home, and he never shows up?
Not only that but I left three telephone messages, waited there 1 hour and left a note on the door. It is 1:15 the next day and he still has not called me back.
Can you even find another DJ when there is 12 days left until your wedding day?
Contact Starlight Productions!
Absolutely! Contact Rob at Starlight Productions. They should be able to help you out or if not, recommend someone who can.

What to do
I say give him the benefit of the doubt that he might have had an emergency situation that came up at the last moment. I would wait to hear from him (try calling again), and see what he says. If the excuse is not to your liking--see what kind of a refund you can get. I would be pretty upset too, but I am always thinking of things that could have happened (believing the best of people.) Keep us informed if you hear from him!!

Im curiuos who your dj is, Ive had a similar situation with mine. Well, he showed up for appt, but THANK GOD we called to confirm because if we hadnt, he told us he would not have been there because we werent in his book (oops)! Now, for our final appt he is on vaction (found out by calling to confirm!). His partner will meet us instead. Not too thrilled about it, but we sort of know the dj, and he is very good.

Actually everything worked out. I think I am extra on edge. He called me and couldn't appologize more. You had a sincere excuse. I don't want to share his name on the board because I truly beleive it was Human error. If you want, email me and I will let you know who it was.
Addressing the minor issue of tipping: Guidelines are only meant as suggested guidelines to help out in a confusing situation. The purpose is an attempt to address an awkward situation and make everyone happy. They come from averages in the past that have seemed normal. Is $1 acceptable for a bellhop, or was that from 20 years ago? Do they expect $5? Do they laugh/sneer @ $1? I appreciate knowing because I don't like offending people.
What to do
Your right, sharing the name would not be fair in this situation. I actually had my final meeting last night, and it worked out well also. I'm sure everything will continue to work out well.
I know for me, even though of I've tried very hard to remain level-headed -it is easy to get frustrated by one little (or not so little) thing since we are working so hard at planning. I try to remember I picked my vendors for a reason: their personality, experience, and product. One thing not going the way I intended should not be an indication of a 'problem'
