What to do about FH's desiree to shave

He wants to shave his go-te (sp?) off before the wedding I LOVE it and really think he looks better with than without it. He shaved it for the summer but I missed it so much. Now he says the go-te will 'date' our photos. In a few years it will be like a white ruffled tuxedo shirt was in the 70's- everyone will know exactly when you got married just by looking at the photos. BUT that doesn't bother me at all. Your thoughts?

my only reaction is - arent you SUPPOSED to 'date' your wedding?? i mean, it IS happening at a specific time and place in your lives, so why not document it as it really is ... (that is something you could share with your FH?)

I don't think it will date your pics. It will capture you as you were on that day. If that is the only reason he is shaving it then he shouldn't!!!

I agree with Miro. I mean, You guys should look like you! I don't like when brides look totally unrecognizable in their wedding pictures. Of course we go out of our way to look our best, but we should still be 'us'. This goes for the groom as well. If he usually has a goatee, he should keep it. Especially if you like the way he looks with it.

Mine is keeping his. I think he should do whatever he feels better doing. I don't think he should shave just because he feels it will date the pictures.
My girls are wearing those thick heel shoes. I heard that those will be out next spring. Don't let that be his only reason.

Ok, he should keep it because you like him better with it. You are getting all beautiful for him and he is getting all handsome for you.

John kept his...facial hair is part of who he is...when we got home from the wedding...our neighbor said to me...'you let him have THAT thing?'

why wouldn't I?

my dad doesn't have a moustache in his wedding picture (not sure when he grew it...but that's all I know him as) and it doesn't look like him...

anyway you need to look back and say...I was married THAT long ago...

tell him to keep it!!!

I DO NOT want my FI to shave. He did it once to surprise me at my college graduation party an I did NOT like it. He knows how I feel and I think he's leaving it as is!!

I never really thought of that - mine has a gotee, and I'm not sure how I'd feel.
But if he decides to shave it, and shaves it the day of or thereabouts, people might blame you, and that might be the 'hot' topic at the wedding.

What I mean to say is - give people time to get used to it before the wedding
