What to do? BM & MOH

What to do? BM & MOH

My best friend is going to be my Maid of Honor (actually my Koumbara-it's a Greek wedding). FHs brother is going to be the bestman. His wife is going to be a bridesmaid.

Now-generally the BM & MOH walk down the aisle together. FBIL & FSIL complained that they are going to walk down with different partners.
FH called me before and said that he doesn't think it'll be right for them to walk down the aisle with other people.
I don't know what they want me to do. The best man usually waits with the groom at the head of the church & then the MOH walks down the aisle by herself. The BM & MOH will only be walking out of the church together. I really don't care if they want to be announced at the reception hall together, but I think it'll look tacky if we start mixing up partners after the ceremony is over just so they can walk down the aisle together. That seems so unorganized.

Sorry this is so long, but I don't know what to do & I'm looking for some suggestions.

I agree with you- that's just silly. Remember its your wedding and that part is only about 5 sec. max. SO SILLY!

R U kidding? Tell them to get over it! They are just walking down the isle with someone else, it shouldn't be a big deal. People are so weird. I have been to many weddings where a couple is in it, but aren't paired up. I woudln't change a thing and I would tell them to stop acting so childish. Good luck.

I think it would be awkward and I honestly don't see why your FBIL & FSIL are being petty. If you want them to walk down with the BM & MOH, keep it that way...it's only for 30 seconds.

Don't switch it around. It's silly. You didn't pick the BM's wife as the MOH, they have to deal with it. It's literally takes 30 seconds for them to walk back up the aisle. I wouldn't change around your wedding party because of that.

You can pretty much set it up the way you want but the way you described it, it's the most common way done. I think it's probably best done that way because it keeps things consistent.

By the way - I forgot to add, when they were saying that they want to walk down the aisle together & we told them that the BM & MOH walk down together, FSIL said to FH 'why don't you get someone else to be your best man'.
I'm sure she was joking, but you just don't say something like that! I thought that was very rude!

Our BM's wife is in my WP. He is walking down with my MOH and she is walking down with a GM. I have heard no complaints from either one and the wife actually just met her partner and was like let me meet him, we are sharing a dance together.

It's your weddign and its is ridiculous for them to have said anything to you! Don't sweat it....they are being very petty...

And they can always switch dance partners during the first dance if that is what is making them uncomfortable.

I agree with you. I know how it feels b/c my future mother-in-law want my fiance`s brothers wife in the wedding party. I don't feel close to her. The best thing for you to do is what you want. Its your day. The family will get over it.

Do the way you want to do it. My sister is MOH at my wedding and her husband is a groomsman. They are not walking together, and honestly I don't think they should, they have different roles in the wedding. It shouldn't even be an issue. It's your day

That is ridiculous and a bit petty. They should get over it and suck it up for the 30 seconds. It is your wedding and you should stick to tradition if you want to and do it your way. It would definitely seem awkward and messy. Whoever doesn't like it can choose to sit with the rest of the guests on the side!

You also said that they want to be announced together at the reception and that you didn't care...if I were you, I'd care. That is not the way it should be done. THe MOH and BM are to walk in together right before you and FH...if they walked seperatly with their spouses than who would you choose to walk in what order (the couple walking right before you is seen as the most important...so who would it be??). And how would you arrange your programs (if you have them). It just messes everything up!

Stand your ground! Good luck!

You can do what ever you want , but I am in the same boat. My family doesn't care but I would like my moh to walk down with her husband (hes not the best man). (so they can get some good family pictures) I am having them walk down together after the ceremony (who really cares) Nobody will notice, believe me.
