I notice more and more that the bridal party sits during the ceremony rather then standing up with the bride and groom....we aren't having our ceremony in a church and it will only be about 1/2 hour...is it too much to ask our bridal party to stand with us?

Re: what to do with Bridal Party
i don't think so. Not for nothing, it *is* a wedding....they should do what makes you happy for the day, as i'm sure you would do for any one of them

I think it should be fine. In all the ceremonies I've been to that haven't been at the church, the bridal party was standing.

Re: what to do with Bridal Party
The only time I was ever in a bridal party that sat was when my friend had a full Catholic Mass. I was grateful that we got to sit because it was a long service and I was wearing the most uncomfortable shoes! I'd say for a 1/2 hour, you should ask them to stand up with you if you want them to.

I don't think it's to much to ask, but I am going to have everyone but the maid of honor and best man sit. We have a big bridal party and I don't want it to look crowded.
edit for spelling

Re: what to do with Bridal Party
Our BP stood for our ceremony, it was outside. We were scheduled for 1/2 hour but it ended up being only about 20 mins. I just had the FG sit since she was only 3 and I knew she wouldn't really be paying attention anyway.

I stood for an hour and a half ceremony and also sat for a 30-40 minute ceremony. I haven't even thought about it but now I think they're going to stand. We aren't having a long ceremony.
