So I need your help...My ceremony begins at 2pm at St. Patricks in Bay Shore and ends around 3-3:30..my cocktail hour at JT doesn't begin till 7pm...what do I do with my guests in between that time gap? The bridal party and FH and I will be taking pictures but i really want to have something for the guests to do rather than just wait around and find something to do....any suggestions?

Re: What to do with guests...
Does someone live close to either the church or the hall that would be willing to host your guests?
You could go to a bakery and get some pastries and cookies a fruit bowl and some drinks for this person to have for your guests
Just a thought

Re: What to do with guests...
We paid a little extra and had a hospitality hour, but our ceremony was over around 4 and it took a little while to get to the RH. The hospitality hour started at 6 and had so much more than we originally thought and what the guests thought bc they thought that that was the CH! Needless to say, when the real CH started, people we overwhelmed with food, but it was AMAZING food

Re: What to do with guests...
We have same issue: our church ceremony is 3pm in Queens, and CH starts at 7pm. Granted, we pushed everything an hour back when our priest told us that the earliest we could have the church would be 3, but I'd be interested in knowing how much hospitality hours generally cost so that my guests are not waiting in Crest Hollow's parking lot for over an hour.
Then again, there is a shopping center a few doors down on Jericho, so who knows?

Re: What to do with guests...
My hospitality hour was an additional $500. I'm not sure what it is at other RH's and what is offered at other RH's.

Re: What to do with guests...
JT has the wine and cheese lounge (as they call it). Im not sure if things changed (I dont think they have0 but we were offered the use of the lounge for our guests beginning anytime after our ceremony ends. Our ceremony was at 3, ended by 3:30 and ch didnt start till 6.
Recently we also were guests at JT and used the wine and cheese lounge and it was SO nice to have a place to go besides a lobby and also be able to have a little pre-ch with drinks!
Has something changed though at JT as far as it being extra

Re: What to do with guests...
hey! I'm getting married there too...and have my receptions @ JT!
People sometimes dress more casual for the ceremony...so it'll give those guests time to get ready...also- its a bit of a commute between places so guests can take their time from place to place

also have you thought about moving your reception up an hour. i moved up my reception from 7 to 6. there will still be a break, but it wont be as bad.

Re: What to do with guests...
honestly.... i know it sounds like a lot of time but it flies. What i did is set up a hospitality hour for whomever arrived early.... but i made it a point to let my extended family know where we were taking pictures and was able to get alll of my extended fmaily member pictures done before the RH. It was a win win for all because by the time we were done it was time to get to the RH!!

Re: What to do with guests...
this may sound terrible...but i wouldnt worry about it! of all the wedding i have been to, not once have they had arrangements for the guests for the in-between few hours. for most of the weddings ive been to, i either go to the church, come home and relax and then change and head to the reception or i go to a bar/restaurant, hotel etc to kill time.
