What to do with your cake top after the wedding??

Original post by MissusJones

We have the entire top of our cake just chilling in the fridge...I know most couples save it in the freezer, and take a bite on their anniversary...do people still do that??

I guess mine is going to taste terrible- I just threw it in the freezer- I didnt wrap the box up or anything- yuck- I cant wait!

hehehe I did the same thing. I didn't really think long term. I think if we take it out now and really wrap it up good, it might prevent any further damage

I'm gonna do that some time this weekend!

sooooooooooo, i just wrapped mine up.

3 layers of saran wrap
2 layers of foil
3 gallon freezer bags, cut and used as the outer layer
plus one plastic bag, taped like crazy

I dare my cake to taste gross in one year!!!

...watch it still taste nasty just to spite my efforts!!

I plan on freezing it for our 1 year anniversary. My supervisor just ate his cake from last year and he said it still tasted good.

I hope that we can save ours but we live in NC and the wedding is in NY. I guess we need a cooler!

definitely a good idea, and then if you have a good friend to freeze it while you're on your honeymoon.
