What to do/bring/have already done for a hair trial???

My hair trial is this Thursday!!! What did everyone do to be prepared.

Did you wash your hair the day or or day before???

What did you wear? does it matter? or should you try to have style of your wedding dress just to see how your hair will fall etc.???

Tip should be 20% right?

Anything else I am missing???

TIA

I would bring a pic if you have something specific in mind.
if you can, I would wear a white tank

20% is good.

I would ask the person who is doing my hair when it should be washed.

Have fun! And take pics!!

My hair person told me to wash my hair the night before...and not put any product in it (no mousse, hairspray, don't straighten it, etc). Wear something that's similar to the color of your dress....white, ivory, etc. bring pictures of what styles you are going for. if you have your hair piece and veil, bring that too. and bring your camera =)

tip: I didn't tip the first person I went to because i wasn't happy at all, but the one i booked...i tipped 20%.

If your hair is oily, wash the night before. If it's not, the morning before should be fine. I wash my hair every other day regularly, but it's not very oily. All depends on your hair type.

Have fun!

Well I have the Japanese straightening so my hair is sooo straight it also is very very soft.. So I was thinking the night before only so that she could manage it better..

20% seems to be good for the tip...

And def my camera....

Denise actually blew my hair out for the trial, but my hair is very curly. She usually has headbands and combs for the trial, you might want to remind her to have it for you tomorrow. I can't wait to see pics!

Have fun Lori. I just brought pictures with me and my headpiece because I had it. If you have Japenese straightening I would definately wash it the night before.

Can't wait to see pictures!

Bring a headpiece and lots of pictures

Call the salon with all your questions - since they are doing your hair - it might be better to take their advice on how to wash it or what to have in it vs. what we say on here - bc she is the stylist you knno?

If you have your veil thats a good idea too. Mine is cathedral and my momhelpd and they clipped it in and then held the end so I could see it.

A good idea is to see if you can pop into your dress or the sample at your bridal salon after your trial.

Bring your veil for sure!

Re: What to do/bring/have already done for a hair trial???

-veil
-white tank or top in a similar cut/color to your wedding dress
-any headpiece or clips that you may already have
-maybe any earrings you may already have, just to get the full effect?
-pics of styles you like, front and back if possible
-camera!
-wear makeup

My best advice is to try to get as close an approximation as possible to what you'll look like on the big day in terms of what you wear, makeup, etc. If your hair looks gorgeous and your face isn't made up, you might not love the hair, cus you're still not looking your best. When my hair was pulled back and up, all I could focus on was the bags under my eyes!

Funny thing about the white tank... I went on a makeup trial wearing a sweater with a big purple floral print on it. It was so distracting that it really 'fought' with the colors in the makeup. I just couldn't get a good image of how the makeup would look against my white dress, although the makeup artist assured me it would look great.

So the next trial I had (Mia), I wore a white tank top. Once I put on the veil and had the hair in place, it was so easy to imagine how it would look against my strapless ivory dress. Mia thought it was such a good idea that she would start telling all her clients to wear a white tank! Hee hee... I guess I started a trend!

no it isnt, just make sure that you def go over with the stylist where the veil would be placed. This can make or break a hairdo - might flatten curls for instance if you dont want the veil placed lower, rather, you want it higher on your head

Have you picked one out or know the style that you want to wear?
