What to give for a med. school graduation party?

What to give for a med. school graduation party?

My favorite cousin is graduating from med. school, and her family is having a party at a restaurant (other than the fact I am so scared that she is 26 and operating on people I am very happy for her!). So I don't know what to give--I was thinking just money but then I thought maybe something else would have more sentimental value--something from Tiffany's or something...Any ideas? We are also close friends (did undergrad. together) and she is starting her residency at SB so I will be seeing her even more...

I'm sure she would DEFINITELY appreciate the money...and I know that as a surgeon, she can't really wear ANY jewelry, so whatever you get as far as jewelry could only be worn outside work (which isn't too often in the beginning!!!)

I would probably give money in a very sentimental, personal, card.

i was thinking of a nice pen would do also. maybe a sthethoscope (sp?). but cold hard cash goes a looooong way, baby! congrats to your cousin!

I was thinking a stethoscope too, but I have no idea how much they run. I was probably going to spend $100-150...The hospital probably gives doctors though? Or she probably has from med school? I'll probably end up giving cash.

I think a gift it really nice! Money is alway appreciated but it just goes to pay a bill and then it's gone!
She will always have the gift from you!

A stethescope is a great idea and they run about 150. That is what we gave to my brother when he graduated from medical school. He is now a pediatrician and still uses the stethescope we gave him 7 years ago...

You don't get them in med school? Or a hospital doesn't give them to the surgeons? I just wouldn't want her to have a few and not use it at all.
