I know I won't be able to play a lot of the music FH & I like at the reception, but we will make them work into our entrances, cake cutting, first dance etc....

I even found a string quartet tribute to Metallica CD and I was thinking about walking down the asile to the instrumental of 'Nothing Else Matters'

Or the string version 'Just like Heaven' by the cure

Just Like Heaven is pretty upbeat...could definitely work for reception!!

I'm sure you could find a perfect fit with some instrumentals...people will be like 'that's beautiful....what is it??' metallica!!!!!!

I even found string tributes to Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Tool, The Cure, Slayer.... I want to use those in the ceremony.

I can already see my grandmother going to the music store telling the sale associate 'I'm looking for the song Raining Blood by slay or slacker or something like that'. Of course she means Slayer.. but I can see her saying everything else that sounds closely related to it.

I am into everything really except for country. But when I met FH he got me into heavier rock and metal so now my i-pod when i run is filled w/ this stuff... especially static-x!

Re: what type ....

FH likes country (he's from FL) and I like some stuff so we'll be working that in too. I gave him 10 songs. The DJ list is going to be so hard for us, we're already working on it... LOL.

And yay, I'm not alone in my Eminem love.

I am a fan of:
-oldies music (motown, late 50's early 60's girl groups like the shirelle's...)
-show tunes (dorky i know...)
-emo/punk (early november, rocket summer, thrice, thursday, postal service, taking back sunday, sopmething coorporate...those kinds of bands)
