what type of wedding are you having?

Original post by Mich2585

in my invitation search ... my mom asked me 'well, what type of wedding are you having?' and even after all this planning ... i didnt have an answer for her. i had to think! my mom said the invitation should go along with the feel of the wedding ...

i guess im going for an afternoon, clean yet classic garden tea party feel (without the tea and MUCH more food) ... what type of wedding are you having? and what kind of feel?

I often refer to my wedding as 'My big fat Long Island wedding'. I always thought I would have a laid back beach wedding but some how FH talked me into a traditional wedding. I think traditional/vintage would be a good way to describe the over all feel of the wedding. My wedding invites are called Victorian Elegance if that helps.

After this week eloping is beging to sound good! Stupid FILs.

i always ALWAYS call my wedding 'my big fat New York Wedding' haha

I would describe my wedding as an elegant fall theme.

I told one of my friends the other day I wanted it to be 'elegant, graceful, timeless and romantic.'

A perfect cross between black tie elegant and summer fun. If that makes any sense.

If you saw Lands End it would, Lands End is that perfect combination in and of itself.

Simple, classy & relaxed

My friend put the theme of his wedding was 'Simple Elegant' on the invitations. Everyone still makes fun of him. Its ok to have a theme, but don't write it on the invitations unless its something unusual. But it was particularly bad because we know he did it, not her.

we had a cozy classic winter wedding ( think winter snow, fire place burning, crystal, branches, nature) with the feel of old hollywood glam

Elegant garden party. I started out with lounge/wine party feel though and it sort of morphed into garden party.
