What was

the best piece of advice you got from another bride about weddings?

My friend basically encouraged me to hire a DOC. She said it was the best thing she ever did. Her DOC, who is now mine, kept her mother in law away from her, made the day run so smoothly and handled everything without stressing the Bride and Groom. She told me to keep the stress at bay, to let someone take charge of the wedding.

to not let others get to me, the wedding is about us and not everyone else and always to remember to keep on breathing

Re: What was

To not rush. I wanted to get married asap so I started looking to book for this coming summer/fall. Then I realized its better to take my time and do it right. There's no rushing when trying to plan the perfect day. Its worth the wait.

Re: What was

My friend told me when I was looking for a RH not to stress over finding 'the perfect place' for a million dollar wedding... because no matter where I had it, the wedding would be beautiful, and it would be the best day of my life. That whichever place I picked would be 'the perfect place' so to just relax and that helped a lot!!

Re: What was

I was told not to expect perfection. I tend to be a perfectionist, so my mother quickly reminded me that something (not everything, but something) WILL go wrong on my wedding day, but I just need to make the best of it and not let one stupid thing ruin my day. Let's see if I remember that advice a year and half from now.
