What was it about your vendors that made you decide to book them?

Was it just the quality of their work or do you feel personality is a big factor? I'm kind of torn on this myself. Sometimes I find a vendor I really like as a person, but their work is not as good as the next guy who has no personality... Any other things you take into consideration?

I would say personality played a huge role for me, especially with photo/video and flowers. For some reason I just didn't click with some vendors, and they were crossed off. After I figured out how important personality was, I did a lot of my contacting vendors over the phone vs. email. I found that to be a better gauge of what they were like and whether I would like dealing with them.

We still managed to have some 'pitfalls', where in one case we argued and walked out of our photography appt, although the work was great.

I got most of my vendor through recommendations of family and friends. For the others, I definately went with the nice people. It's probably not the best route, but it's luckily worked out for me so far.

I think a combination of thier skill, thier personality (especially the DJ & Emcees) and I went with the ones I thought undertood my wants the best.

Each vendor for us was different.

For our photograph we had to that we loved, the one we went through was a husband and wife team that really seemed to care about each of their bride's weddings.

The florist-- I had seen his work and I just knew that he understood me.

The band had no choice-- family tradition

The limos-- FSIL's neighbor, so I knew where to find him

Rev-- The guy marrying us is a family friend.

Favors--- saw her work loved it! She is great

Invitations-- Lenea was great listened to what I liked and didn't and took us from no clue to helping us-- she was great.

I guess-- helpful, understanding and caring were what we looked for.

95% of mine were from recommendations (my florist, photographer and videographer were used in parties I was in, so I knew the way they worked). I winged the limos on personality and a prayer.

A lot was personality. We're bikers, our friends are bikers, our families like to drink and party. We wanted someone who will have fun and go with the flow of things of our wedding. Our vendors that we chose are great and their personalities definatly clicked with ours. We met some that their personality didnt mix with ours and we know if they didnt mix with ours then we know they wouldnt mix with our friends and family.

I think it was a combo of personality, work quality AND price.

Photographer - combo of all 3 above. We clicked with another photographer we met with, but price won out on this one.

DJ - again, a combo of 3 & once we saw them in a showcase we booked with them.

Video - 1st vendor I booked. First guy I met I went more with price & after I booked w/him, his attitude/personality changed. Realized I made a mistake & cancelled, lost the deposit & went with another videographer who's work was much better & we clicked with them, altho they were a lot more expensive than we initially wanted to pay & this is the only vendor I went over the budget on.

Florist - combo of all 3

Solid reputation and the 'look' of the vendors place of business. For flowers, Stefan's showroom was mind blowing and it was sooooo beautiful. Tons of books with pics. And the people who were coming in resembled myself in a lot of ways.... Also, I couldn't help but notice the amount of repeat business customers. Also, sooo many people know of them and they are solid pros.

My band- my FI had seen them play at a wedding and swore by them.

Creative Compositions or Jo Von was the obvious choice for photography. Again, they are very me. The clientele is me. And they look is the look I like.

And my place, my parents have been members there for years. It was unique and matched my personality.
