...at a wedding or any other party! I'm curious to see what people consider a great favor, I think this might help me when it comes to favor decision making.
And on another note, what was the worst favor you ever got?
My answers: I got a beautiful espresso set once which I know I will definitely use when I have company...when I get my own house that is lol. I also like the little wine bottles with the personalized labels but those usually don't make it too far from the table !
Not necessarily my favorite but I got a gorgeous Versace wine stopper at a wedding. There were over 400 people there, holy small fortune
My least favorite is probably the picture frame favors. Something that I can use without it screaming 'party favor'!

Definitely a donation made in my name to the Cancer center that saved my cousin's life. Not only is that type of favor benefitting others but it makes you, as a guest and a person, feel good.
Something 'physical' ... we recently got a really beautiful ice cream scooper that was 'fancy' b/c I have an everyday one but now I have one for like Thanksgiving Dinner and stuff! YAY!
ETA: almost forgot about the MIKASA wine stopper that was shaped like grapes-- that was pretty!!

best favor - chocolate covered apple (which is why im copying!)... I also got one of those tall bamboo plants too, that was nice...
worst favor - a small frame, a small peice of crystal i'll never use, a candle, I could go on!
I think edible things are best

Best- I love CD's as a favor- I got one a few years ago from my friend who actually wrote & sang her own wedding song! She also sang her own versions of another 4 or 5 songs on the CD.
From a wedding I just went to, I received a sugar & creamer ceramic set w/ a basic pattern on it. I love things that are useful (I agree about the candles, unless its in a really nice holder- I've had enough of them!!).
The worst favor.....this was from a wedding I just went to over the weekend- they had a card on the table with a bride & groom caricature that said 'Thanks for coming' and on the other side were the directions on how to get home (the wedding was upstate).....that was it! Considering we drove 2 hours each way to be there, I figured they'd at least have a favor...I was shocked. But then again, a lot of people who live in the sticks don't make as big of a deal out of weddings as we do in the metro area. the entire wedding was weird!!

Some favors that stood out in my minds have been a bottle of wine, a cake cutter, candles, anything edible. I also got a ring holder - one of those things that looks like a sombrero - that I used for many years. I wouldn't say I loved it, but it was useful.
Unfortunately you're never going to pick something that everyone loves - someone won't like candy, someone will think the picture frames are cheesy, etc ... I'm not sure if I'm going to do them, but that's why I think the donation favors are such a great idea. Not everyone appreciates your favors, but that money you're spending at least goes to some good.

best favors: donations ( of course ) wine stoppers, bottle openers ( you always lose these things so its good to have more)

A heart-shaped glass bottle with balsamic vinegar inside. They went above and beyond for their favor spending thousands to get these things imported from Italy, but I loved it.... it was useful and totally encompassed who they are.

Everyone in my family usually does chocolates, either Godiva or Lindt. I love the idea of an edible favor and I think it's great! I just wanted to do something different cause it's almost been over done in my family.
I went with Waterford votive holders that also look like candy dishes. . .do people really not like getting candle holders?

the best favor I ever got was a small crystal ice bucket with tongs!!! Ihave actually been looking for them and can't find them anywhere.......
I also love donations...........
I haven't really had any worst i have been lucky!

TOTALLY same here - and honestly - for the worst is wine/alchohol. FH and I don't drink.

hmmmmm...no favorites really.
one wedding i think they gave out candy but we left it there. at another, they did hershey's kisses and hugs, at an e-party they did housewarmer candles with names over the labels and at another they did the LOVE coasters. the coasters i use at work to keep my desk dry...and so they're the only favor i still have, but i wouldn't say they're my fave....they've just survived.

the worst, a cheap plastic lighthouse with a clear label on the bottom the had the couple names and date
the best, really cant think of any. Its the one area I want to be rememberable

Best: - donations - wine - christmas ornament - bok of flowers to go (broken down from the CP's...every female got her own bok on the way out...very nice touch) - choc chip cookies and cup of hot cocoa to go - bagel and cream cheese - KRISPY KREMES and coffee
Worst: - frames - mini crystal ice bucket (sorry but it's so small it's useless and the handle is cheap and tarnishes) - candles - anything glass, ceramic, etc b/c it's always cheap looking and goes straight in the garbage
I think edible favors are def. the way to go!
