What was the best favor you ever got...

A Sterling Silver Ice Cream Scoop, that was the best.

Best:
Bottle Opener
Time Capsule Ornament ~ so cute!(the wedding was in 2000)
Champagne
Wine
Bagels and Cream Cheese for the next morning

Worst:
Anything engraved with the people's names on it - when am I ever going to use a cake cutter with someone elses name on it?
Any useless crystal pieces or funky candles(yard sale material)

worse: any little knick knacks that you look at and go 'what the hell is this?'

best: picture of myself (haha, j/k!)

no seriously, I'm gonna go with chocolate in a pretty box plus each guest gets a photo of themselves taken on the wedding day.

Everyone in my family usually does chocolates, either Godiva or Lindt. I love the idea of an edible favor and I think it's great! I just wanted to do something different cause it's almost been over done in my family.

I went with Waterford votive holders that also look like candy dishes. . .do people really not like getting candle holders?

i think people are referring to some cheap stuff that you would never display in your home

yours are WATERFORD - it is my only chance to ever have a waterford peice enter my home!!

plus it goes with your whole irish theme so its perfect!!

like people say they dont like knick knacks and stuff but my mom gave out these gorgeous crystal clocks for my brothers wedding ( dont ask) and i see it displayed in everyones home!!
i think it definitely depends on quality!

Best favor: Donation favor and chocolate of any kind.
Not so great favor: ??? I can't think of anything!

I got a hand painted bud vase that I loved. I am atypical.. because i love candles and one of my favorites was a glowing candle that I got from my own baby shower! I also loved getting a bottle of Winter White wine from Pindar. And a Christmas tree ornament that was just soo pretty. I still hang it. All time favorite was shortly after my sister passed away as a result of breast cancer, I went to a wedding and the favor was a donation to the Susan G. Koman Foundation. She put hugs and kisses in a box with a ribbon and a poem about how this disease can touch us all. On the back there was a list of names of people that the couple knew who had survived or died from breast cancer. It was sweet.

As to worst... I got a really gaudy gold plated cross. The gold was chipping off before we even unwrapped it.

But the BAR NONE WORST was a bride who took polaroids OF HERSELF blowing a kiss. NOT of herself and her husband (I was friends with HIM), and not of the couple and the guests... JUST her. She then signed each picture XO and her name.
RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!

My favorite is CD.....as long ias the person has decent taste in music.... FH and I are probably going to go with that if I can convince him to get over the possibility of 'copyright infringement charges' blah blah blah....I watch prison break....
I also like donation favors (especially when the and are personally connected to the charity they choose and it's not just a random choice...it makes it more meaningful)


Worst Favor- A little candle in the shape of a wedding cake....not really sure when i'll ever use that...

This post made me laugh.

First becasueI'm easy. Anything involving food or wine I'm psyched to receive a favor. My overall opinion on them is that most are sort of silly and I'd rather people spend $$ on a great band, food, etc.

Second because that the 'gorgeous Versace wine stopper' mentioned is actually a piece of crap (if were talking about the same thing sadly I don't have a picture). I hope i'm not offending anyone but rec'd one for my shower last year from MIL's best friend who makes a big show at being ostentatious and thinks she's super classy, while really she's this cheap old broad who bs's everyone. Which would be totally ok - if she only owned up to it.

Long story short on the wine stopper:
a) personally i think it rather ugly (jmo)
b) it broke nearly instanteously after being used and for both me and my MIL who also rec'd one earlier that year from her said friend
C) My mom found them in that store Jumble China for like $3 about a week after my shower...

My favorite favor was from a bridal shower. It was a sterling silver ice cream scoop with hershey kisses in the scoop part wrapped with tulle. It was very nice!! I was very excited about it.

For favors I would go with something useful like coasters or salt and pepper shakers or something - well at least those are my ideas!!

My favorite favor was a red crystal tiffany paper weight. Ad just for entertainment value, a pint glass that said, 'I went to ____ & ______'s wedding and all I got was this lousy pint glass'. I thought that was hysterical.
