What was the first thing you did?

guest list(to get an estimate of people)? Pick an Rh or set a budget?

Re: What was the first thing you did?

we first made a quick guest list, just so we could tell the rh how many people we were thinking when we went to look. Then we set the budget and picked the rh.

We made our preliminary guest list then tried to find a hall that could accommodate our count and then looked at the person price. Then we narrowed down the list of halls- We actually only looked at one!

Same here....quick guest list, then started looking at halls.

Guest list. Therefore knowing how much u need to budget and how much are willing to spend.

Pick an RH... we knew we wanted a relatively small group and figured if we picked a place that couldn't take more than a certain # of people, we'd have an excuse not to invite everyone under the sun!

We set a budget, then RH, then guest list. This way we knew how much money we could afford to spend, then see which RH we could afford and how many people we could afford to invite. Which in the end - we are spending more $$$ than we thought we would and inviting more people than we wanted to.

Re: What was the first thing you did?

my mom and my FH's mom made a list of must invite family members.. then we added our friends to the list to get a guesstimate.

with that we went to RHs to see their minimums for certain nights of the week

we were bad, we chose our hall then did our budget.. we fell in love with the fox hollow and knew we'd pay what they asked. After booking the RH we knew how much money we'd have to save! lol

The first thing we did was get our parents together for dinner to discuss the wedding and meet each other. The main things discussed were how big the wedding was going to be and the day of the week the wedding would be.

We were engaged in December but didn't really do anything until February, which was get a hall.

Halls, guest list & then budget but we do everything backwards

We were the same with Danfords! We would have paid whatever they wanted but we were even happier when they came down in price for us!

We picked the RH first. We also knew we wanted a small wedding and the guestlist would just have to accomodate that.

We did that..I chose the smaller room so that we had to keep the guest list to a minimum..it helps that we both have small families too though

i made a quick guest list and then rounded up a bit...then went RH shopping and we didn;t reallt set on overall budget. We knew who was paying for what and what we were all going to be spending...i guess that really is setting a budget...lol
