guest list(to get an estimate of people)? Pick an Rh or set a budget?

we made a rough guest list, then i put together a budget and then we started looking for RH.

Honestly...think about when we wanted the wedding, then booked the church - we were definitely getting married at my church - so if the church wasnt available on the date we wanted, we would have had to changed the date. After that, put a preliminary guest list together for an approximate amt then went RH shopping

We did a preliminary guestlist then started researching into RH's. Also planned our e-party 2 months after we got engaged.

Luckily I had 2 sibs who had gotten married before me so my mom knew about how many people we'd invite. I never set a budget (oops!) so we picked the RH first knowing that we would be able to meet the 150 minimum.

guest list.. because if u find a hall u're really interested in u're going to need a minimum # to give.

Like the other girls said, we did the preliminary guest list as well. Only because whenever you visit a RH it's the first question they ask.

Picked the time frame that would accommodate most people since DH's entire family lives in Europe. The last thing we wanted was to find the perfect RH and then find out DH's parents couldn't make the trip the US on that date.
So we asked around and concluded that mid September through mid October would suit everyone, so we found an RH we loved that was available any of those 4 weekends.

Guest list first (many RHs have minimums/maximums), then budget, then RH for us.
It was more important to be able to invite everyone we wanted and get a cheaper RH than to have to cut people from our list in order to be able to afford it.

we started looking at Halls first. the halls usually ask for approx how many, so i think that if you made a rough guest list before you go looking you should be fine

we made a general guestlist so we had an idea of how many people to tell the hall cuz that was the first thing they asked
