I didn't need a purse. It was a dumb purchase--I got married and had our reception in the same small place, and there was no need to carry around anything! It just sat in the bridal suite, which I just returned to if I needed to touch up my makeup.

I didn't need a shawl (even though I got married in February). Complete waste of money.

nothing to me was unncessary!
there was NO stopping us! lol

i guess my dad, being he and my mom paid for the whole thing, kinda felt like the table linnens and chair covers was unncessary bc they costs more than the flowers!!! but i dont care...i loved them! and the guests complimented endlessly on everything, including how they had silk nappings to wipe their mouth!

i was a very practical bride (at least i think so!) so i did only what was important to me. nothing was unnecessary to me that i had. i wanted programs, the bagpipers, etc so they were a necessity.

in general though, i never understood 'cry packs'. i've never seen anyone cry at a wedding and need a tissue.

me 2!
everything was a neccessity! just other people, like my dad with the table linens and my inlaws, and sometimes my dh thought some things were NOT neccessary!
whatever!

All anyone really needs at a wedding is a bride, a groom an officiant and a witness. Everything else is gravy an wonderful but not necessary. I would imagine thats why people have city hall and Vegas weddings.

But if I had to choose something at my wedding I could have done without, it may have been the big flouncy white dress my DH's aunt wore.

I agree...I think if you are asking this question, some of these things may not be a necessity to you. I'm into absolute simplicity and we were on a tight budget..so for me..all of those extra things were not necessary....

i thought all the DIY's were unnecessary and therefore we had none. i don't think anyone noticed.

table cameras...with so many people having digital cameras and our terrific photographer--didn't really add much, unless you count the boob shots one table took did get a few nice shots from them but not enough to be worth it!

i would say flowers...you can so so many other things that are way cheaper! i tried to go the DIY route and i am not that good lol! I think DIYs are great they save so much $$ that you shouldnt have to shell out!! we cant afford flowers so we are doing candle and rose petal CPs .

I had trumpet players at the church before, during and after- I always wanted it, but it was unncessary- if I had to cut something they would have been the first to go, however I did LOVE having them there and it made for great pics too!

Ribbon wands are used incase the church does not allow petals to be thrown or bubbles to be used....you just wave the wands in the air and it makes for a very nice picture.

oh that one is EASY.....

my starfish placecards! you think it's difficult and time consuming organizing normal placecards? Well, take that time, and then add the time to tie each one to a real (delicate!) starfish, with a ribbon that keeps untying itself!

then change the seating arrangement several times

but they sure are cute
