What was the nicest/most special thing your MOH/BMs did for you?
My friend just asked me to be her maid of honor, & I really want to do a good job, but I need some ideas. I know I'm supposed to do the shower, bachelorette party & help her out with planning & on the wedding day, but can any of you give me any ideas for cute gifts or other special things to do?

You might consider taking pictures of all the 'events' you do together - from shopping, to fittings, etc. and compile a scrapbook for her. My sister started with the dress on the rack - and she's been keeping tabs on all my upcoming appointments so she can try to be there with camera in hand. Another small token would be to compile a list of all the websites for wedding planning - or maybe a subscription to Martha Stewart weddings - something like that.

My MOH threw me great shower, taped me opening all my gifts so my FH can see. Best of all she made me a bunch of things....first the little Hersey Chocolates with my wedding date and our names and said Cookies Shower. Then she made me a Video case she took my Wedding invite and glued it on a case and put roses and ribbons around it and it came out beautiful then she got little bells and put a wonderful poem on them that I can put on the tables at the recepetion and guest ring them instead of clanging on the glasses for you to kiss.

My answer may not be the most common, but my maid of honor is my little sister. Shes 17. when i had asked her to be my maid of honor she was so excited. I had went out one night and i came home only to find pictures all over my walls. In big letters 'JESSICA THE BEST MAID OF HONOR EVER!!!!' she is determined to be the best one ever, and i think its the nicest thing anyone has done for me.

I think a wedding planner is a wonderful, helpful gift. You can write little notes throught it. But honestly I think the most important thing you can do is NOT add stress. Offer to go with her dress shopping, help her by cutting out photos of things she might like from magazines, don't complain about the color of the BM dress that she falls in love with, send her a nice note when things are getting rough with a family member, remind her that she is going to look beautiful, kidnap her on a stressful day and take her to a movie or for a manicure and don't talk about the wedding.
I am very lucky because my MOH (I have 2, one is sister, one is best friend) offer to go to makeup trials with me, cut ribbon for programs, make wax seals for the invites, and listen to my ***** and get stressed over little stuff. That helps more than anything.

How about getting her a subscription to Modern Bride? If you do it online its about $9.95 for the year. She would love this!
