Hence, why we could knock the snocks off the opponents at a chess, science or math tournament but not a football, baseball or basketball game!!!

I think that why they changed it. Now every team ha s differnt name, and out of all of the normal sports, the only team with the dreaded pegleg name, is football.

We now have the Penguins (Swimming/diving)
The Phoenix (basketball)
The Mimbas (Women's Soccer)
The Untouchables (Fencing)
The Sticky FIngers (Ultimate)
The Hitmen (Baseball)

Only those poor doomed foortball players are stuck with 'Pegleg Pete' as their mascot. OH well!

We were Eagles.

In college, we were Friars (they're priests). It's a wonder we didn't get our a$$es kicked every game.

In HS we were Wildcats. Pretty typical.

In college we were Geoducks.

In case you aren't up to speed on aquatic life, geoducks are giant clams...

ETA: I just looked up the Giant Clams fight song:
Go Geoducks go
through the mud and the sand
let's go.
Siphon high
squirt it out
swivel all about
let it all hang out.
