How far out did you start saving? Did you and FH say 'we'll each put this amount in each week/each month'?
Or did you have a stash saved up?

We are each saving $400 per month. I had $1,000 in savings to start and my mom gave us $500 as an engagement gift. Our start-up money ended up being enough for our venue deposit. I'm also going to put most of whatever I get back from my tax return into the pot.

we made a Cd right after our enagament dinner and put all the money we got in it. Every mth we would put in $500 each, but we havent put a dime in since this summer but we have taken out anything so it is a good idea to open one up and start saving a set amount per mth
