What would be the best way to get across to someone, won't say who, that they need to show a little more appreciation?

And after I've already told this person, ehem, still not saying who, that I need him to appreciate me a little more, he still doesn't get it. Gee, can we figure out who it is?

You need to stop doing whatever it is you feel is going unappreciated. I don't like playing games, but sometimes, you need to turn the tables on them in order for them to appreciate what they have. And cry - crying always works. (J/K!)

Haha, he would SO know what was up if I started crying. He would be like, huh? But I guess that means I shouldn't go see him anymore If he misses me as much as he claims he does, then wouldn't he get his @ss up and come here? i mean, I know it's harder for him because he doesn't have a car, but he works right in Boston, hell, right across from his normal train is the damn bus that gets him back to NY. I just feel like he is so spoiled right now. And he keeps telling me he'll try, but he's been pretty friggin slow about it.

Seriously, I know it will hurt you, too, but you need to just pull back a little. Don't become emotionally distant, but stop doing the little extra things. Let him come see you. He shouldn't want you driving up to Boston by yourself and back just to see him - let him sit on a bus to come see you. Yes, it may cost more money, but at least he gets to let someone else drive and go to sleep if he's tired. You can't do that if you have to drive both ways. Either that, or tell him flat out that something needs to change because you're unhappy.

Ok, prime example, I left him my car last weekend, because he needs to come home this weekend for a family party, so there, made his life easier right there, but THEN, THEN he has the nerve to call me just now and ask, 'Did you book me a ferry to come home tomorrow?' EXCUSE ME? I was like, are you kidding me? Are you not a man with his own credit card and own sense of personal responsibility? I'm not talking to him, I'm going to say something I regret, I know it.

i think you should tell him how you feel - a lot of the time, people dont' know how their actions affect others and this might be the case. plus he's a man...you have to spell everything out for him!!
