What would you do...

What would you do...

Someone recommended this limo company for my bachelorette party. The owner is a young guy who basically runs his business out of a garage (VERY shady). Let me start by saying my bachelorette party was on Halloween weekend and I have yet to hear back from this vendor.

Here's the story...

We booked 1 stretch limo for a good price of $350.00 for 5 hours. The driver was a REAL jerk and was procrastinating the whole way going and coming home. He kept getting lost (mind you he drove my friends a week before to the same club!). Long story short...I made sure we wouldn't go over the hour so I began gathering my crew of friends at 3am...our hour would end at 4:15 (including 15 minute grace period). The driver pulled into 2 gas stations on the way home claiming he was lost. We ended up getting home at 4:10am...Still within the hour, the driver began yelling at me and my friends and demanded we pay him $80 which would include tolls (we knew tolls would be included). I flipped but he wouldn't budge so my cousin ended up paying the money...I immediately called the owner who is a friend of a friend and he told me we'll discuss it the next day. I have left this man at least 20 messages and he has yet to call me back. He avoids my phone calls and never returns them. I know it's only $80 actually 70 minus the tolls but it's the point.

What would you do?

I agree- report them to the BBB and let them know that this is what you're doing. Maybe then you'll get a call back. Some people are only out to screw others.

Call him one more time and tell him that if you don't receive your $80 by Wednesday, you're filing a complaint with the BBB

I was going to put in a complaint through BBB BUT he's not on there, how shady is that!!!

Can I still report him if he's not listed as a vendor?

He probably is not even license to do business. You could threaten him to take him to small claims. Someone I knew did that for a $100 and it worked.

you may also want to try writing a formal letter restating what happened and what you expect back from him. You can indicate that if you don't receive a reply within 5 business days that you will seek legal recourse. send it certified mail, return recepit so you know he gets it.

I am not sure that you can...e-mail them or call them and ask. I also liked what someone said about small claims court!
