What would you do?
If you have been booked with a particular LIWedding vendor for a long time b/c they used to only get rave reviews and now...the reviews are mixed! You spoke with the vendor & your concerns were put at ease. Then you saw some more positive reviews and THEN...another HUGE NEGATIVE review!Would you try to switch with less than 5 weeks to go? Lose a couple of hundred dollars?
Or stay with the vendor?
This is unnecessary stress any bride should experience?

Re: What would you do?
That is stressful, I think it depends on the vendor. Were the negative issues something that you can make sure doesn't happen e.g. vendor showing up late or is it something subjective?
I guess I would contact them again and share your concerns and make sure that they understand what you are expecting.
Good luck and try not to stress too much.

Re: What would you do?
There are a lot of factors to consider:1. is your second choice vendor available

2. can you afford to lose the deposit

3. were the negatives you read consistent or flukes

4. have you been able to get a satisfactory answer about the negatives you read

It all comes down to how much is your sanity worth since it will bug you to no end that this vendor may not follow through

You have to go with your intuition on this one.
Good luck

Re: What would you do?
It also depends on the type of service - is it subjective (like I hate my pictures, or the DJ wasn't very good) or is it more objective (the hall didn't have enough waitstaff, the cake was lopsided, the photographer didn't bring his camera). If your comfortable with the vendor then rest a little easier and just keep it in mind to be very explicit when dealing with that vendor- so you know that they know what you want.
I've read a lot of mixed reviews about the place I'm getting my dress from and my dealings with them have been great so far. I just make sure I'm clear and vocal about what I want and what I expect.

Re: What would you do?
I agree with what everyone posted. If you want something specific, or don't want something and are adamant about it, make sure you express this to the vendor.Remember, every vendor is going to have good and bad reviews. Even the best vendors have customers that aren't satisfied.

Re: What would you do?
Well I know that I decided to switch one of my vendors in February...it was a minor vendor and I did not get the deposit back...it was minimal. I did not have confidence in the vendor and felt that I needed to switch ASAP!However, I think this is a major vendor for you. Have you spoken with them about this latest bad review?
I also agree with Hollie...NO vendor is perfect...if there were perfect vendors we would all be using them!
Hang in there Kell!

Re: What would you do?
if you are truly uncomfortable and can find someone to replace the vendor, then go for it....you shouldn't be afraid of what might happen.

Re: What would you do?
Make sure that the 2nd pick is available. If so, drop the first pick because you wont need any added stress the day of.

Re: What would you do?
I think I know who you are talking about and I have decided to cancel and book someone else for my wedding. We were told we would get our deposit back, so that better happen. I lost faith in this particular vendor and it is not worth the stress of worrying about it in my opinion. FM me if you would like more information.
