What would you do?

What would you do?

I am a manager of a small department of people (about 15). I was only planning on inviting the 2 supervisors that work for me to my wedding as well as some other close friends from other departments. Well, yesterday, I got an invitation to one of my employee's weddings (not a supervisor). So my question is this.....do I need to now invite him to the wedding? Should I go to the wedding? What about the other staff? I feel like if I invite him I have to invite all these other people, which I definitely do not want to do. The thing is, it's not like I'm particularly close to him. I believe he invited me out of respect because I am his boss.

I think a lot of people invite their bosses out of respect, but I would probably decline the invitation.

I think that probably gets you out of inviting them to yours.

yeah for sure. i think they felt they had to invite you b/c you are the boss.

I agree! I would not go to his wedding - maybe buy him a small gift, and not invite him to yours ... bc then you would have to invite all the employees that work under you.

i agree also. im have a similar prob also like that. we have a new girl that started working with us now if she is still there in march do i invite her? everyone from work is invited to my shower and wedding, how can i not invite her? ive know all the other girls for 4 yrs and we are close so i not sure about her.
