Me and FH found our dream RH and are ready to put a deposit down. We want to book this specific date due to our work schedules and financial situation, so we want to make sure we get this date and dont lose it.
The only thing holding us back from putting the deposit on the RH is that our church is not booking 2009 weddings until September.
So would you put the deposit down for your RH without knowing if the church is going to be available?? Did anyone else getting married at St. Marys in East Islip have this problem?? Im really nervous because I always pictured my wedding at my church.
TIA

Re: What would you do....
That's not the church that I'm getting married at, but I am having a similar problem. I booked my RH months ago and my church laughed at me when I went to them and tried to book the date. They still don't have a book for 2008!! So frustrating, but in my opinion, RH dates book up faster than church dates. I would take the risk. The absolute worst case scenario, you could go to different church if you had to. Not necessarily the case with the RH. Good Luck!

I don't think it's too risky to get the RH. I don't believe that there will be a mad rush in September to book all the 2009 dates at the church, though I'm not personally getting married at that church.
Most people do not reserve their church that far in advance. If you start calling in the beginning of September, I'm sure you'll be among the first to book for 2009.
My FH and I will be engaged just over 9 months when we get married and we got a date at our (very large / busy) church that worked with our RH's availability.
