i cant believe she changed it that way - on of the girls that im in her BP early next year - changed the date and didnt tell me until i got the save the date in the mail (about 2 months after she changed it) i almost booked a cruise to be in the caribbean the day of her wedding - she needs to understand that alot of what your doing cant just be moved around - but if you can change things then i would

I would probably be angry about it, but I'd try to go. Maybe you can find someone on Craig's List to switch tix with you if the show you are seeing is more than one performance?

I think that your wedding being so close is more of an issue. . . . you'll be busy and pre-occupied and that seems so odd to want to marry so close to a friend's wedding. . . .

Do what you feel, and I would say it depends how close you two are.

Honestly, it depends how good of a friend she is. If it was a very good friend of mine, despite the inconvenience, i would try to be in the bridal party. It can be such a fun time for you both planning together and four weeks isnt too close (meaning its not like its the week before your wedding). If she isnt a good friend then i wouldnt bother. All i know is with my wedding so close if my friend RSVP'd no because of play tickets, id be a bit bummed. JMHO and HTH

First of all, SO wrong of her to change the date without telling anyone in her wedding party. Secondly, Did she give you a valid reason for changing her date?
Lastly, if she is a really good friend i would suggest that you go to the wedding. I didnt go to my bestfriends wedding bcuz i couldnt stand her fiance and was so mad that they were getting married and now i regret it so much. No matter what she was my bestfriend and i should have put my feelings aside and been there for her. a day doesnt go by that i do not regret not being with her on her special day.

While that is really irritating that she changed the date it's still her wedding too. And if you guys are that good of friends I would be upset that you wouldn't cancel the tix to go to the wedding. I can understand not being able to actually be in the wedding bc of the money and how busy you will be but I don't think she should consult anyone about her date. JMO though

I totally understand where your comign from. Not sure of the circumstances of why she changed her wedding date, but I'm sure it was a last minute thing...not taking sides at all, but i'm sure she didn't ask anyone or get approval to change her date...I would be upset too, but if I was the bride, i would be upset if my friend said she couldn't make it beacuse she had show tickets.

I wouldn't be in the bridal party, I would hope she would understand that...but don't miss her wedding. It's her special day and you wouldn't want her to miss your wedding. Take a deep breathe, I know your angry/pissed, but it will all work out.

yeah, that would pisss me off too...i would just say that with your own wedding and committments, you just can't be there. its not your fault, so i wouldn't feel too bad, but she;ll probably feel crappy.

I think that your friend is wrong in changing her wedding date and like you said with no courtesy of letting her bridal party know.

And no you shouldn't change your plans that you had for that day with your FH.

i personally would never agree in the first place to be in a wedding that was 4 weeks before my own for the same reasons you mention--money and time. so she chose to change the date, and that's her prerogative, but i don't think she can expect much from you at this point in the way of commitment. it seems a little self-involved for her to demand that from one of her girls when she knows she's sort of moved in on your wedding date.

you should follow your instincts on this, but i wouldn't let her guilt you into anything.

I think it ***** that your friend didn't consult but it is her day and she can do as she pleases but with that said that doesn't mean everyone else has to drop their lives for her. Everyone has a life of their own and you should be prepared to accept the consequences of such actions if you don't consult with people. If you have people walking in your wedding you should keep them in the loop as far as major changes-like your wedding date!

You defintely should opt out of the bridal party because you don't need the added stress before your wedding. If it was so important for you to be in her wedding then she should have at least given you the heads up. I personally would do what is best for me because although she is your friend you have to take care of yourself as well. If you can change your tickets then so be it but I would definetely let her know that what she did was not cool especially if she didn't have valid reason. Have her think about how she would feel if she were in that position.

I definitely think that is wrong. She should have at least mentioned it to her bridal party before she went ahead and did it. I think it's crazy, I woudl be upset.

This could be totally inappropriate...but is there any chance that she's pregnant?

It just seems crazy to move your wedding date sooo unexpectedly unless something unexpected happened...

That being said, you can't worry about why she had to push her wedding up and just go along with your plans and hope that she understands...if she doesn't then she needs a reality check
