I love my hair dresser so much and I've been going to her foreverrr now. Since I was like 12 and now I'm 24. But I don't think I want her doing my hair for my wedding because I just feel like sometimes she's kind of stuck in her ways with styles and I just want something totally different, but I feel so bad. Then to make things even worse I just got back from getting my hair cut and she started talking about my hair for the wedding ugghh I feel so bad, I feel like i'm going to be cheating on her or something lol and I don't want her to hate me. I even thought about just having her do it anyway but I know I would kick myself and I don't just want to have to settle because I feel bad...what would you guys do? How would you tell her?

tell her you won free hair for yourself and like 1/2 off for your BM at a hair salon at a showcase or something and you HAVE to go with her inorder for your BM to get the discount....
this is what I have to do with my aunt......although she doesn't do my hair regularly, she is expecting to do it for the wedding. I am telling her I won it to not hurt her feelings!

I would just go to a trial with her first. Tell her you would love to use her but that you want something completely different than she usually does and you wanted to give her the chance to come up with something great before going to someone else. If she can come up with something perfect, then problem solved! If not, then you gave her the chance and she can't be mad at you for her own faults...

that's a good idea! i wish still give her a chance first, though. you never know what she may be able to come up with and if you have a trial with her she may do something you love! then if she doesn't, tell her you won something through liw
eta: it sounds like you really like her and feel bad about not booking with her so what would it hurt to give her a chance? you have been going to her for so long she is probably so excited for you and wouldn't want anything more than for you to love your hair so i'm sure she will try her hardest to make you happy

Hmm I know hair dressers like that- the ones who've known you so long that they take the 'Well, I know best' approach. Honestly, I wouldn't go to her. Go to another hair dresser but make up some excuse if she asks you. Tell her your FMIL is paying for you and all your BMs to get your hair done at this particular salon or something like that. Otherwise, you might hurt her feelings and you don't want to piss off your hair dresser! LOL!

Re: What would you do....
I was in the SAME position and after the last time I went to my girl and she 'convinced' me to keep my hair the same, I stopped cold turkey. I wanted something different with the color AND she always cut too much off when I asked for a trim. She was talking about my wedding too.
I wound up walking into a place I had only heard about and i LOVED the woman who did my hair. She listened to everything I said and did exactly what I wanted. I've been going to her ever since and I haven't spoken to my old hair dresser. I feel bad, but my hair was sooooo lack luster and ordinary for too long.

Re: What would you do....
reason I am doing this is bc my aunt doesn't really know the 'styles' I am really into. I think I also plan on adding extensions, which she doesn't do. I dont want to hurt her feelings so this was my only option!

I would give her a chance to do the trial but tell her that you want something different and see what happens. If you are not satisfied, then you can go try out some other ones.
