What would you do?

What would you do?

So I'm booked in the mid-size room at my reception hall. The BM said it holds 160 comfortably but can max at 170. (To me, that means put 150 in there)

Our A list is at 175, with the B list it brings it up to 199. (Plus us and 2 kids)

so thats way over 150.... now the A list we're sure that we'll be under that 150 #, but a bunch of the B's I really do want there.

I asked FH to call and find out if the larger room is still open and if we can move up to there. Problem is, I'm in love with the fireplace in my room and the larger room doesn't have one. (Actually when I was looking at RHs I said my room had to have a fireplace in it)

Would you potentially move up to the larger room that you dont love so that you can have everyone there, or stay with the small room and chance it that not everyone will be able to be invited?

Stay with the room you love, mail your a-list invites with 2 months for rsvp, give it a month, and if you still have room, then send the b-list with a month to rsvp.

if you dont have a problem paying for the extra people, i would rather have more friends and family there rather than the fireplace. thats just me though. in the grand scheme of things, it is more important for me to look back years from now and remember the friends and family who i love instead of a fireplace which doesnt make a difference in the end. (i'm not knocking your fireplace though!!! its just not my thing)

eta: but stick with your original room until you see how many actually RSVP!

That's a tough one - do you know for a fact that the room is available?

This is what I plan on doing! At Villas- they dont tell you which room yo uhave until like the month before, it depends on one of the two weddings whoever is bigger

I'd switch rooms. I'd rather have all the important guests there than a pretty fireplace. JMO!

Thanks girls. With the estimated no's from A&B togther its about 168ish....too large for the room I'm in now but almost too few for the larger room.

I'll update you once I know if we can actually switch rooms or not
