What would you do?

What would you do?

I'm doing a TTD but I recently got an offer for my gown. If I sell it than I can't do the TTD with it. What are your thoughts about purchasing a simple white dress for TTD? Would it take away from the whole wedding look?

Is the offer for both of your dresses or just one of them? What if you do the TTD shoot with the other one you have and then after you get it cleaned, sell that one?

Re: What would you do?

I already sold the 2nd dress.

Now I got an offer for my 1st gown which isn't bad at all, plus what am I going to do with it afterward. I don't have the space to save it plus none of my girls will wear it. But I must do a TTD more because I didn't get any outdoor pictures.

i think a simple white dress is fine then... like one of those long flowy ones. they sometimes have those deals on ideeli like nicole miller dresses for a couple hundred bucks. i think it would be ok!

I don't think I want to sell a dress after I have submerged it in water.

what if you do more of a 'love the dress' outdoors as opposed to a TTD so you can take the pics you want outdoors and not trash the dress so you will be able to sell it??

You can get a really nice flowy, simple kind of dress - dress it up w/ chunky jewelry if you want to add a certain kind of look. You can find those kind of dresses in department stores, and they're really nice and not crazy expensive.

I love the water pictures. My vision is to get really wild and not be limited to anything.

i was thinking of doing the same for a TTD. i was thinking of trying to find an off the rack $99 special at davids for a TTD, since i just know it would break my mothers heart to see pics of me trashing the gown. plus i really wanted a grecian style flowy gown but went with a traditional satin a-line for the wedding, so now if i get an inexpensive flowy one i can have the best of both.

Check out Macy's - sometimes they have really nice white gowns. My sister in law got her gown there so little and it was gorgeous.

I like this look at well. I'm just limited to time because the bride really wants it. Off to Macy's and David Bridal I go.

Congrats on selling both dresses - that's AWESOME!!!!

Btw, go to the Macy's in Manhattan for the dress - the one in Queens is not so good for that.

How much time do you have before TTD shoot?

IDK, I mean unless its a really good offer, I would just keep it and do the TTD shoot. It sounds like it means a lot to you...

Maybe you can turn down this offer, do the shoot as you want it, and then have it cleaned after. You never know, it might turn out looking really good after the cleaning and then you can sell it on ebay or some other used dress website. That way you still get to do the TTD, and you can get some cash for your gown that someone will take off your hands.

JMO. HTH!

I put both dresses on PreOwnedWedding.com and sold within 1 week. I got back 80% for the second dress and 50% off the first gown. Not bad at all.

I got less than 1 month.
