what would you do? and how would you handle this? (long)

Let me give background first. As you know my hubby & I own a hardware store. An associate of my husbands from younger years ( which is a pain in the *** and DHs family knows this and so does neighborhood people, ) came into the store and other then being anti-jew ( not knowing that I am ), is a bag of wind. He had informed us that there was a community meeting at the precint last night. So I figured I'd go. I live in the area and own a business in the area I have a double investment, right?

Problem, not really a problem but how would you handle this? I get to the meeting early and get a good seat. We are talking and since I have never gone to a meeting before and this was my first and not knowing anyone I listened and had something to say to one woman whos driveway is always blocked like mine and how long it takes for the cops to come yadda, yadda, yadda. Well we move on to the next topic and this guy comes in late, and as another woman was talking and I raised my hand to respond gets in my face, saying dont talk to her she is crazy. and then proceeds to sit down next to me, practically on top of me. (we were stuffed in aroom like sardines) and everytime i raised my hand to speak in an orderly fashion he jumps on my topic. After the meeting ending I go out side to talk to the police officers from Community affairs dept. and then the second woman crazy lady comes out to talk to me. Since i do not know her I have no reason not to talk to her. Right? well as I am speaking to her he comes out and tells me someone wants to speak with me and I told him Ill be in ther in a minute after I finish. Well after speaking to this lady, I approach the officers again and ask if everybody who attends these meetingas are crazy? cause it sure seemed that way to me. So I left cause it was to much for me to handle as a first meeting.
Okay, now this morning hubby gives me a note that was attached to the gate of the store when I came in for my morning coffee. It was from this guy, to my hubby. All this guy ever did/does was annoy hubby. You know the type of person who knows it all and is all talk?

It reads as follows:

'Please tell your wife that it would be most advisable for her to not get too involved with that woman that lives acrosss from.... I know her very well, she was in the civic assoc. 3 or 4 years ago. She did an excellant job of ruining that group. alot of peopole where I live on my side like myself think there is something wrong with her. She has done alot of very nasty and questionable things involving the kids & other people. I have personally witnessed her literally make a jackass of herself & whoever was associated with her. So unless your wifehas some desire to have a fate such as this she should at the least keep a safe distance. Try to explain to her that she has to learn that more is not neccessarily better! Just because she may think she is getting her point across during 1 of these meetings dosent mean that the cops & politicians there are agreeing with her inside. She should also try to listen to what people with experience advise her to do. There was a woman from the Mayors office who wanted to speak to your wife. This is the kind of person she should be dealing with instead of a screw ball/bag of hot air like the 1 I told her about the kids hanging out at ...... take some pictures of it when it gets really bad & have your wife mail it to ..... & nad hook up with that fat lady .... & see if the other members can help. She can use & take credit for all of this info becauwse I still like to see it get cleaned up there. As far as me coming around anymore forget it. She very much seems to be the type of person who has a lot to prove. I want nothing to do with that. My proving has been done. '

First off I left the meeting to get away from this guy and any othe r nuts that might be there. Knowing there was someone form the Mayors office was said at the beginning of the meeting which he missed. I figured I would give a call in the morning to straighten things out and since it would be fresh in her mind. There was also someone form the councilmans office which unfortunatley I did not get her card. but I am so bleepin annoyed by this guy. I read the note to hubby since he handed it to me. He got so annoyed by it. He asked me what did he ever do for him? except being annoying.

Sorry had to do venting. Not only do I work 9-5, not including travel time and come home to kids I have alot of extracurricular stuff going on so I am always nutty

I wouldn't do anything. as far as handling the stuff with the 'kids hanging out/fat lady'-->???? do whatever you think is best. but, as far as this guy is concerned, ignore the note, and if you see him again (at your store or another meeting), tell him that you really would prefer it if you the two of you didn't speak.

YIKES-WACKADOOO

Thats not how to get results done. I want to clean up the area. It is a community meeting at the police precint which is important. Belive me if I could stay away from them I would. I'd run so fast away theyd eb eatin my dust. but in order to get results done you need to go and be heard, yadda, ytadda, yadda

Take it with a grain of salt. His big problem seems to be that you are talking to this 'crazy' woman. Obviously he has some beef with her - it's wrong of him to try to force his opinion on you. Just shrug off the note for now.

But if you happen to run into him again. I would bring it up. Only a coward would leave a note like that. You are an adult and are fully capable of making your own decisions.

As far as this guy's anti-semetic attitude. I'd rub his face in the fact that it is your heritage. It's 2004 you dork - this crap has to stop.
