Things like this have happened before and I never found a reason to tell someone when it isn't my business and why should I be the one who potentially ruins a relationship? not my place.

I agree that you don't want to be the one to let the cat out of the bag but in my opinion the relationship is already in ruins if one person thinks everything's great and the other is lying through his teeth.
What about the obvious? What if he brings home herpes or AIDS to her? I think she needs to know for her own health not to mention that the jump off (chick on the side) might turn out to be dangerous. The gf or wife might be a target and not even know it -- it wouldn't be the first time that's happened.

Unless it was a VERY close friend, it is NOT my biz....In most cases, ive seen, the woman kind knows, but is in denial, and when confronted with the situ, the woman always ends up with the guy and the friend is the 'beeotch' ...but I WOULD WANT TO KNOW!

Re: What would you do?-hypothetical question
Let me put it to you this way and imagine yourself being the wife in the following situation: I am a divorce attorney and the way that several of my clients have found out that their spouse was cheating was after visiting their physician and being told that he/she has some sort of VD. Obviously, since my clients were faithful to their spouses, the only person from whom they could have acquired the disease is from his/her spouse. It becomes obvious how the spouse acquired the disease. Now VD can range is seriousness from say herpes all the way up to AIDS.
I would personally feel very bad if I found out that a woman got AIDS because he husband was having unprotected encounters with strippers, hookers, other women, etc and I did not tell her.
When telling another woman this type of information I would put it to her in this way, that you would not want to see this happen to her. If she chooses to forgive him and put herself at risk after that then it is her business and her gamble. Even if she hates you for it, at least you can sleep at night.

I personally know someone who was in jail (long story -- nonviolent crime) and he came out and was infected with AIDS by his wife who had been cheating on him the whole two years he was incarcerated. Now I didn't know she was up to no good but other people did and no one said anything. He died before she did.
